How to pass ENVS 124
How to pass ENVS 124
- The first thing you should do is familiarize yourself with the syllabus and the grading scale. Pay special attention to the weight of each quiz. One quiz is worth 5% of your entire grade.
- Write in a datebook or calendar the day of quizzes and due date of glossary.
- Get the glossary done as soon as possible! The glossary will take time; it is not something that can be done the day before it is due. Often the glossary will be 10+ pages. The earlier you complete the glossary, the more points you will receive. Make sure you print a copy to have for yourself and reference it during lectures and while studying for quizzes. If you simply copy definitions and do not take time to learn and understand the meaning of the definitions you will struggle with the quizzes.
- Use the online notes. The website has lecture notes that will help with studying material for quizzes. There is a sample quiz that shows the style of questions used and answers expected.
- This class differs from other classes in that there may not be one clear right/wrong answer. The key is to use the proper words while presenting your argument (thus complete the glossary early).
- Show up to all lectures and do all readings. It will not hurt to look for real examples in the news to apply what you are learning.
